What Makes Ontario Solar Power Program So Successful
The first Canadian province to have a solar power program was Ontario. The Ontario solar power program
offers property owners a way in which to sell any energy that their solar panels create back to the energy market. This is done by the sun producing energy, which is both renewable and sustainable. The Ontario solar power program is the first program to successfully tap into large quantities of this energy for resale.
Solar panels are made out of photovoltaic cells that are made out of silicon. Each individual cell is able to produce 0.5 volts of electricity. Batches of 36 cells are grouped together to form a module that can be linked with other modules. Unfortunately only between two to fifteen percent of the solar energy that reaches these panels is converted to electricity.
The Ontario solar power program is committed to offering financial incentives in order to stimulate the construction of more solar power. In the beginning the Ontario solar power program was only willing to pay $0.802 per kWh. However, this is like getting free money from the Ontario solar power program if you are willing to invest in installing solar power within your home.
Whenever you look at how much money it costs to heat your home you will notice that you are not really making a whole lot of money. So, while the concept behind the Ontario solar power program is good, the technology unfortunately has not caught up yet. Nevertheless, people still believe that in the future the Ontario solar power program will grow as entire cities begin to rely on solar power for their energy needs. Therefore, there is still some hope yet for the Ontario solar power program to come out on top and be a really good program for its citizens to take advantage of.
